The Best Way to Uncover Hot Selling Products On eBay

I don’t want you to think I’m holding out on you or anything, cuz I’m not, but I think when you’re first starting out in internet marketing or using a new system to build sites to make money online, you want to MAKE money, not SPEND a bunch of money on tools and stuff before you can even get started.

The The eBay® Affiliate Blog System is designed to get you up and running and making money as an eBay affiliate with as little cash outlay as possible.

That being said, you wouldn’t consider trying to do carpentry work, such as building a desk or entertainment center without tools to help you cut the wood, drill the holes and drive in the nails.

Of course, you can use a hand saw to cut the wood, a hand drill for the holes and a hammer to drive the nails, or you can use a power saw, a cordless drill and an air hammer. Which ever tools you use, you’ll be able to achieve your goal, one just takes longer.

Just like carpentry work, there are tools available that will help you make money online, some are hand tools and some are power tools.

Lately, I’ve been using a tool called Hot Item Finder to research niches for my eBay affiliate blogs.

Hot Item Finder is designed to help eBay sellers uncover hot items to sell on eBay. However, it can also be used as a powerful tool for uncovering hot products to promote on your eBay affiliate blogs.

I bought this tool when it first came out several years ago, because, as some of you may know, I’ve been an eBay seller since 2001.

I recently dusted it off and began using it to research niches to build eBay affiliate blogs.

Hot Item Finder is very fast and has many useful tools built-in to help you research and analyze what’s selling on eBay.

You can search by keyword or category, you can search both active listings and completed listings and you can uncover the hit count, that’s the number of people who looked at an item, for all the hot selling items in your search results. This is really powerful for determining the popularity of a product.

In addition, you can see how many bids the hot items received, sort and filter the search results Hot Item Finder pulls from eBay, you can get the top 100 popular search terms from each main category (this info is pulled from eBay Pulse), download the data and open it in excel for further analysis, “tell” it to only search for completed items that sold and lots more.

As much as I like this tool, I wish it would automatically calculate the sell thru rate for the search results.

The only way I’ve been able to determine the sell thru rate using the information returned by Hot Item Finder is by doing 2 searches, one search for a specific keyword on completed items and a second search for that keyword on only completed items that sold. Then, using the total number of completed items for that keyword and the total number of completed items that sold for that keyword, you can determine the sell thru rate. There may be a way to do this within the program, but I haven’t figured out how to do it yet.

Anyway, I think Hot Item Finder is a valuable, time-saving tool and it’s really helped me over the past several weeks to uncover products that are selling on eBay to promote on my eBay affiliate blogs, and for only $47, it’s a steal.

So, you have a choice, you can slog thru eBay searching all the completed listings to see what sells or you can fire up this inexpensive desktop tool and let it do all the heavy lifting for you.

Click the link below to watch a video of Hot Item Finder in action. WARNING: turn down your speakers, cuz there’s a big explosion at the beginning of the video and it’s pretty loud. For some reason, Dave also shows his PayPal account and ClickBank account at the beginning of the video, I’m not sure what that’s all about.
